Who doesn’t love Christmas time? Even though we don’t ‘celebrate’ Christmas as a tradition, we love putting up a small Christmas tree at home, buying presents for the kids (from Santa, of course!), visiting Christmas fairs and displays around town, and doing Christmas-themed crafts, of course.
Last year, we made some Christmas Tree ornaments using craft sticks and this year we made some salt dough ornaments for our tree. Once winter break started, the kids wanted to do other activities for Christmas, like baking cookies and a Santa-themed Craft too. Since I collect all sorts of bottles, paper carton boxes, toilet paper rolls, wrapping papers and other things that can be re-used or recycled for craft purposes, we decided to use toilet paper rolls to make our very own Santa. We just needed some colored paper, craft eyes, cotton, scissors and glue to get started, and it took us less then 20 minutes or so to make our cute Santas.
Materials Needed:
Toilet paper rolls (1 for each Santa, you want to make)
Colored paper in Red, Beige and Black
Craft eyes
Cotton
White pom-pom
Scissors
Glue
Step 1: Cover around 4 inches of the TP roll in Beige paper and the other 6 inches in red paper.
Step 2: To make Santa’s belt, stick a thin strip on black paper around the middle of the red paper and stick a small beige rectangle in the middle of the black.
Step 3: For the hat, make a cone from the red paper, making sure it will fit the top of the TP roll and have spare space for the glue to be stuck on the top.
Step 4: Stick the cone on top of the TP roll and stick a white pom-pom above.
Step 5: To complete Santa’s face, stick eyes and a cotton beard.
Ho! Ho! Ho! How cute is our little Santa Claus!
